Sanju Samson is looking forward to spending time with MS Dhoni in the IPL 2026. He has joined the Chennai Super Kings after the five-time champions secured a trade deal with the Rajasthan Royals. Samson has represented Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals in the past, and the wicket-keeper batter revealed that Dhoni always had a positive influence on him.

“I have spoken to Mahi bhai on and off the field, but this will be the first time we will spend two months together. I am really excited,” Samson told PTI.

“Whenever he calls or speaks to me, it helps me a lot. I will be sharing the dressing room with him for two months, and it has its benefits. I will watch and learn from him, and I see this as a great opportunity,” Samson added.

Samson will head into the IPL 2026 after playing a key role in India’s success at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He played three consecutive match-winning innings in the last Super 8 match against the West Indies, the semi-final against England and the final against New Zealand. He amassed 321 runs in five innings and was named the Player of the Tournament.

Samson was also named in the ICC’s Team of the Tournament.
