Lucknow . Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak reached Chinhat Community Health Center (CHC) in Lucknow wearing a mask on Monday. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak got angry over the cleanliness system, poor condition of the wards and negligence. During the inspection, bed sheets were not found on many beds in the general ward and he expressed strong displeasure after seeing the filth in the hospital premises. The Deputy Chief Minister directed to give notice to those responsible and deduct one week’s payment of the cleaning agency. Also warned that until the cleanliness system in the hospital is not improved, the concerned officers will not go home.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak suddenly reached Chinhat CHC today. Wearing a mask on his face, he first went to the prescription counter and stood in the queue among the patients. During this, he took information from the patients about the arrangements of the hospital. After this he reached the pathology department, where there was a long queue of patients. He asked the technician how much time does it take to take a patient’s blood sample? After receiving the reply, he gave instructions to speed up the investigation process, so that patients do not have to wait for long.

During inspection, dust was seen around the X-ray room. On this he gave instructions for immediate cleaning. He opened the cupboard kept there and also checked the stock. After this he reached OPD room number five and took information from the doctor about the hospital arrangements and the number of patients.

When the Deputy Chief Minister reached General Ward No. 28, he became angry after seeing the situation there. Sheets were not laid on many beds in the ward. Cleanliness was also not satisfactory. He reprimanded the concerned staff and said that any kind of negligence in the care of patients will not be tolerated.

During the inspection, he also observed the condition of the toilets, which was not found satisfactory. On this he instructed the officials for immediate improvement. However, after checking the expiry date of the fire extinguisher cylinder, it was found to be correct.

When the Deputy Chief Minister arrived to inspect the CHC, training was being given to ASHA workers in the auditorium of the centre. The ASHAs told the Deputy Chief Minister that their mobile phones were out of order. This is causing problems in work. On this, the Deputy Chief Minister immediately called CMO Dr. NB Singh and instructed him to get the mobile repaired or replaced. Also asked to pay the dues of Asha workers immediately. He instructed the CMO to immediately reach the CHC and resolve the problems.

During inspection, the arrangement for drinking water was also not found satisfactory. The water pipe was tied with a net and there was dirt all around. Expressing strong displeasure on this, the Deputy Chief Minister said that there will be no compromise on cleanliness and basic facilities in the hospital.

He warned the officials not to leave the hospital premises until the arrangements were completely put in place. There was a long queue at the medicine counter. Instructed the CHC Superintendent to improve the arrangements. He said that patients should get the medicine within five minutes.—————
