India’s star cricketer Shubhman Gill thanked after winning the Polly Umrigar Award (Best International Cricketer – Men) at the BCCI Naman Awards 2026. He received this award for the 2024-25 season, and he called it a big honor in his journey, as many cricket greats have received this award before.

Shubman Gill thanked the Indian Cricket Board BCCI and said that this award gives him an opportunity to join the list of many great players. He said that the achievements made by the Indian cricket team last year are the result of the collective efforts of the team. Gill thanked his teammates, parents and family for their constant support in his journey.

“First of all, thank you to the BCCI. The honor that I have received to receive this award adds me to the list of great players. I think what we achieved as an Indian cricket group last year was extraordinary. Five ICC trophies, I don’t think that has ever happened before. I would like to thank all my teammates. This would not have been possible without them. Also, I would like to thank my parents and all my family members for supporting me here. “Helped us reach,” Gill said in a video posted by Star Sports on X.

This is the second time for Gill to receive the Polly Umrigar Award. Earlier also he had won this award for the 2022-24 season.

Shubman Gill’s 2025 was a great year for India, especially in Test cricket. During the England tour, Gill performed brilliantly in the five-match Test series, scoring 754 runs in 10 innings, including four centuries. His biggest innings was 269 runs. Additionally, at the 2025 World Cup, Gill won the World Run-scorer title of the year with 983 runs in 9 matches, and his average was 70.21.

Shubman Gill also made important contributions in the Champions Trophy 2025. He scored an unbeaten 101 in India’s first match against Bangladesh and finished as India’s third-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 188 runs.
