Delhi: India’s young left-handed opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in the news these days for his excellent performance. This player, who has achieved great achievements at a young age, has now decided to make Rajasthan Royals (RR) the champion in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He said that in the upcoming IPL season, his entire focus will be on the success of the team and he wants to contribute to the franchise winning the title with his batting.
While talking to Star Sports during BCCI’s Naman awards ceremony held on Sunday, Suryavanshi said that the upcoming IPL is very important for him. He believes that if he plays his role well then the entire team will benefit from it. He said that he will try to perform in such a way that he can help Rajasthan Royals win the trophy.
Suryavanshi had shown brilliant batting performance in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup played this year. In the final match against England, he played an explosive inning of 175 runs in 80 balls, which played an important role in India winning the title for the record sixth time. After this brilliant performance, the confidence of the young batsman has increased a lot and now he wants to continue this trend in IPL also.
At the Naman awards ceremony, Suryavanshi got a chance to meet her World Cup winning teammates and coaching staff again. He said that winning the World Cup was a very special experience for him and he was very happy to meet his teammates again during this ceremony.
Suryavanshi has also created history by making it to the IPL at a very young age. He became the youngest player to get a contract for the league. Rajasthan Royals signed him in the 2024 auction for Rs 1.1 crore at the age of 13.
The young batsman also told that he got the opportunity to learn from many experienced players in the initial camp of IPL. Especially he got a lot of guidance from the legendary Rahul Dravid. According to Suryavanshi, the time spent with the senior players of the team was a very important experience for his career, which brought positive changes in both his game and thinking.
