The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will celebrate outstanding contributions to Indian cricket at the Naman Awards 2026, scheduled for Sunday in the national capital. The Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to former BCCI chief Roger Binny, ex-captain and coach Rahul Dravid, and former women’s captain Mithali Raj, in recognition of their dedication, integrity, and lasting impact on the sport.

One of the main highlights of the ceremony will be the recognition of all five Indian teams that have won ICC trophies, a historic milestone for Indian cricket. The senior men’s team will be celebrated for their victories in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The senior women’s team will be honoured for their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 win, while both the men’s and women’s Under-19 squads will be acknowledged for securing the ICC Under-19 World Cup titles in 2026 and 2025, respectively.

“This year, Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid will receive the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, the BCCI’s top honour recognising exceptional contributions to Indian cricket,” the BCCI stated.

“Mithali Raj will be honoured with the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for Women, acknowledging her outstanding role in advancing and elevating women’s cricket in India,” the statement added.

The Naman Awards celebrate the excellence in international, domestic, and youth cricket, highlighting individuals and teams who have made lasting contributions.

Binny, a key figure in India’s 1983 World Cup win, was the tournament’s top wicket-taker and the first Indian to open both batting and bowling in an ODI.

After retiring, he coached India’s Under-19 team and served as national selector from 2012 to 2016. Later, as BCCI President from 2022 to 2025, he guided Indian cricket.

After retirement, Dravid worked for the future of Indian cricket. As Head of Cricket at the NCA, he improved development of the players, mentored young talent, and led India’s Under-19 team to the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup. Later, as head coach of the men’s team, he maintained his focus and discipline, guiding India to the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup victory.

Mithali Raj, a legendary figure in women’s cricket, will receive the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award. Over a career spanning more than twenty years, she became the highest scorer in women’s ODIs with 7805 runs at an average of 50.68, led India to two World Cup finals, and inspired a generation of young cricketers.
