The Board of Control for Cricket in India is set to hold a grand event in New Delhi on Sunday, March 15, to celebrate Indian cricket’s recent success in the ICC event. The event, named the BCCI Naman Award, will also honor three legends, celebrate the present, and recognize the future.

The focus will be on the felicitation of the men’s senior team that won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on March 8. India led a dominant campaign in the home ICC event and defeated New Zealand in the final to shatter major records.

India’s win had some historical achievements as the Men in Blues became the first in the history of the T20 World Cup to win the tournament three times.

The BCCI will also award India’s title-winning team at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the winning Under-19 boys’ squad in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026, and the girls’ squad who won the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup title in the same year, 2025.

In addition to team honors, several prominent figures in Indian cricket will receive individual awards during the ceremony.

Shubman Gill, India’s Test and ODI captain, will then receive the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men) for the 2024-25 season. Star batter Smriti Mandhana will be awarded the Best International Cricketer (Women) for a record fifth time in her illustrious career.

Mithali Raj, the former India captain, will be named for the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for Women.

Roger Binny, the leading wicket-taker in the historic 1983 World Cup, worked in the game as a coach and selector and most recently as the BCCI president between 2022 and 2025.
