When and where did Harshit Rana get injured?

Harshit Rana was injured during the warm-up match of T20 World Cup 2026. He was injured while bowling in the warm-up match played during South Africa. Due to the same injury, he had to be ruled out of the T20 World Cup also. However, later Harshit also underwent surgery for his injury but till now he has not been able to recover completely from it, due to which he had to withdraw his name from IPL 2026.

Harshit Rana will get Rs 4 crore even after being out, know the rules

Harshit Rana's salary in IPL 2026 is Rs 4 crore, which he is going to get even after not playing for KKR.

Harshit Rana will get this money not from KKR but from BCCI. According to BCCI rules, if a player under central contract gets injured and is out of the entire season, then he will get his full salary. This policy of BCCI has been in force since 2011 and is still continuing. Before Harshit Rana, Rishabh Pant and Deepak Chahar have got the benefit of this policy.

Harshit Rana played 34 matches for KKR

The news of Harshit Rana's exclusion from IPL 2026 came just after Blessing Muzarabani joined KKR. KKR has selected Blessing Muzarabani as the replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.

Now KKR also faces the challenge of finding a replacement for Harshit Rana. Harshit Rana has been continuously playing for KKR in IPL. Till now he has played 34 matches for this team, in which he has taken 40 wickets.
