According to the report, Kumble said, “It will not be easy for RCB to win consecutive titles under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar. However, I think Rajat Patidar has done a good job in his first season.” Kumble told that when Patidar was chosen as the captain, many people were surprised, because everyone expected that Virat Kohli would take over the captaincy again. Kumble praised Patidar’s calm and steady leadership abilities. He said, “Rajat Patidar looks calm and composed even under pressure, that is his biggest USP. This should work for him.”

Furthermore, RCB has bought Venkatesh Iyer for Rs 7 crore for the upcoming season. However, Kumble said that Iyer will not be a part of RCB’s playing XI initially. “First, you need the same starting XI that won the trophy last season,” he said.
