But in my view, he performed well on important and difficult occasions and he deserved this award. AB de Villiers said that bowling fast on Indian pitches is not easy.

He said, 'It is not easy to be a fast bowler in India, unless you are Jasprit Bumrah. He also proved costly in some overs during the tournament. But when the semi-final and final matches came, he bowled amazingly. I have never seen anything like this before. Bumrah looks like a player from a different planet, he is a gem of India.
