The Indian women’s national cricket team will have a packed international calendar in the lead-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with a series of challenging tours lined up to help the team fine-tune its combinations before the global tournament.
India’s preparations began with a tour of Australia in February–March 2026, where the team played a three-match T20I series, followed by three ODIs and a one-off Test. The results, however, were a mixed bag with India leading the T20I series, failing to win the ODI and Test series.
Following the Australia tour, India will travel to South Africa in April 2026 for a five-match T20I series. The extended series is expected to give the team valuable match practice in the shortest format and help the management assess different combinations ahead of the World Cup.
The build-up will conclude with a tour of England beginning in late May, featuring a three-match T20I series and a one-off Test match. Playing in English conditions will be particularly significant as the Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in England and Wales later in the year.
Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian side will look to use these series to build momentum, with experienced players such as Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma expected to play key roles as the team gears up for the marquee ICC event.
