The T20 World Cup 2026 prize money has drawn plenty of attention after India lifted the title for the third time. India will be receiving a massive financial reward after defeating New Zealand in the finals at Ahmedabad.

The champions will take home INR 27.48 crore from the tournament’s prize pool. On the other hand, New Zealand will receive a prize of INR 14.6 crore.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has allocated prize money across all teams participating in the tournament, with a total of INR 120 crores.

The distribution is based on the team’s performance in the competition. The third and fourth placed teams, South Africa and England, will be recieving an prize amount of INR 7.24 crores.

The teams that reached the Super 8s stage but failed to qualify for the semifinals will receive a prize money of INR 3.48 crore. Meanwhile, every team that participated in the group stages will receive INR 2.29 crores.

The matches were hosted across India and Sri Lanka, and the tournament benefited from strong broadcasting deals and sponsorship agreements. The commercial gains helped push the overall prize fund to a new level.

India had a brilliant performance in the knockout stages of the T20 World Cup. Their batting and fielding woes have been settled and improved a lot.

During the finals, Sanju Samson led the charge with a blistering 89 runs off 46 deliveries, helping India to post 255 runs for 5 in the summit clash.

In response, New Zealand were bowled out for 159 runs as India sealed a comfortable victory to secure their third title. Jasprit Bumrah delivered an impressive spell, bagging 4 wickets in 15 runs, while Axar Patel picked up three wickets to complete a dominant performance.

Sahibzada Farhan has emerged as the highest run getter in the 2026 T20 World Cup, while Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy emerged as the joint highest wicket takers in the tournament.

Sanju Samson, who played only 5 games, topped the chart of most sixes of the tournament. He also scored 321 runs, which came on the back of 3 consecutive scores in knockout matches.
