Chasing a daunting target of 177 against the eventual champions India in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa scored 169 runs. The match was played at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, on June 29, 2024. India won the toss, and opted to bat first, scoring 176 in their 20 overs, powered by Virat Kohli’s 76-run knock.
From South Africa, Quinton de Kock (39 runs), Tristan Stubbs (31 runs), and David Miller (21 runs), played decent knocks, but the star of the show was Heinrich Klaasen, who scored 52 runs in just 27 balls. Despite this, they lost the match by seven runs.

The Trans-Tasman clash in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021, pitted Australia and New Zealand faced off in this mega contest. Australia won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first.
What followed was a pure batting masterclass by New Zealand’s batting maestro Kane Williamson. The right-hander scored 85 runs off 48 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes. None of the other Kiwi batters managed to match his brilliance on the biggest stage, as they only managed to put 172 runs on board against the Aussies. The Kiwis eventually lost the contest.

In the exact same match, New Zealand’s rivals Australia comfortably chased down the target set by Kane Williamson’s side, and took the second spot in this coveted list. It was pretty one-sided by the Aussies as they chased down the target in 18.5 overs to clinch their first-ever T20 World Cup.
After losing captain Aaron Finch early, David Warner (53 off 38 balls) and Mitchell Marsh (77 off 50 balls) steadied the ship and took their team closer to victory. After Warner’s dismissal, Glenn Maxwell joined Marsh and scored a brisk cameo of 28 runs in just 18 balls. Mitchell Marsh was named Player of the Match for his match winning knock.

The second spot of the coveted list is taken by team India for their innings during the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. After electing to bat first, the Men in Blue scored 176 runs in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli was the star of the show with the bat.
India had a horrible start with the bat, as they found themselves at 34 for 3 wickets in just 4.3 overs. The team needed something extraordinary, and that is exactly what they got from Virat Kohli, as he scored 76 runs in 59 balls. Axar Patel (47 off 31 balls) and Hardik Pandya (27 off 16 balls) gave him much-needed support. They eventually won the T20 World Cup title for the second time, after defending the total successfully.

The Men in Blue who went all guns blazing in the finals of the T20 World Cup 2026. In a jam packed Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Suryakumar Yadav’s team created history as they smashed a record-breaking score of 255 in their 20 overs, batting first.
Sanju Samson was the star of the show, continuing his golden touch, as he scored 89 runs off just 46 balls. Apart from him, Abhishek Sharma (52 off 21 balls) and Ishan Kishan (54 off 25 balls), played their part brilliantly. Shivam Dube gave his side a much needed finishing touch, playing a potential match-winning knock, as he scored 26 runs in just eight balls. In the end, the target proved to be too much for the Kiwis as they were bundled out for 159. Indian team eventually became the first team ever to lift the T20 World Cup thrice.
