Father's one step made him a champion

Sanju was born on 11 November 1994 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. But his father Samson Vishwanath was a constable in Delhi Police, due to which his cricket career started in Delhi itself. However, at a young age, he faced a big setback in the junior system of Delhi cricket. Despite scoring more than 500 runs in 8 matches in a junior tournament, he was not included in the Delhi U-13 team. Didn't get a place in. This rejection shocked his father also.

After which his father decided that some big steps would have to be taken to fulfill his son's dream and then the father took voluntary retirement from Delhi Police. After this the whole family returned to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. This decision was not easy, leaving a government job and moving to a state with a weak cricket system. But the father believed that Sanju's talent would get more opportunities here.

After reaching Kerala, Sanju worked hard again. Then while playing for Kerala at U-13 level, he scored 973 runs in 5 matches and also captained the side. Sanju Samson never looked back after this. At the age of just 17, he made his first-class debut for Kerala in the 2011–12 Ranji Trophy. Soon he scored two centuries and a fifty. After this, he was selected by Rajasthan Royals in IPL in 2013, where he became one of the youngest players and won the Emerging Player Award. This performance again opened the doors of Team India for him.
