Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2024. “The pitch has been under covers for two days and we don’t know how it will behave. The mood in the camp is good but we are not thinking about our impressive track record against Kolkata. It is important for the players to perform on the match day,” Hardik Pandya said.
Shreyas Iyer would have bowled first as well. “I have been trying different tricks to win tosses but it has hasn’t worked. The toss becomes crucial in such matches (Raina). We would have bowled first as well. The pitch is under covers for two days. We have played good cricket but need a win to qualify for the playoffs. We are keeping things simple,* Shreyas Iyer said.
The match has been reduced to 16 overs a side and the powerplay will be of five overs.
