Shoaib Akhtar has heaped massive praise on England all-rounder Will Jacks following his impressive performance against India in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026. He took two wickets and scored 35 runs. Jacks dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, on scores of 9 and 89, respectively.

“Will Jacks again took two wickets. He is a good player and scores runs as well. He is Goron ka Hardik Pandya hai (He is England’s Hardik Pandya). He is consistent,” Akhtar said.

Abhishek was not able to time the ball and when he went for a big shot on Jacks’ delivery, the result was his dismissal. He removed Samson, who was nearing his hundred and looked at his best at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Will Jacks was one of the main reasons behind England’s semi-final run in the global tournament.

The Men in Blue posted 253 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, with Samson facing just 42 balls for his match-winning knock. Chasing 254, the visitors were in the game, thanks to Jacob Bethell’s stunning hundred. However, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik were brilliant in the 18th and 19th overs, which put the Indian National Cricket Team in a winning position.

India will face New Zealand in the summit clash on March 8. The contest will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
