In this important match, Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan created history by making a brilliant partnership. Together, both the players created a new record for the biggest partnership for India in the knockout matches of the T20 World Cup.

19 year old record broken

Earlier this record was recorded in the names of Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa. Both of them had made a partnership of 84 runs against Australia in the semi-finals of the 2007 T20 World Cup. Yuvraj and Uthappa had put the team in a strong position by adding 84 runs in just 39 balls in that match. After about 19 years, now the pair of Samson and Kishan have left that record behind.

India’s fast start in powerplay

Despite the early fall of one wicket, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan did not let the run rate slow down by batting fast. Thanks to the aggressive batting of both, the Indian team scored 67 runs in the powerplay itself.

Samson’s second consecutive half-century

Sanju Samson seems to be in great form throughout this tournament. Earlier, he had played a match-winning inning of 97 runs in the Super-8 match against West Indies. Now in the semi-final against England also, he put the team in a strong position by scoring a half-century.
