Rohit-Virat's plan-2027, will make comeback on this date, will play so many ODI matches

Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli Matches In 2026: After T20 World Cup 2026, the focus of the Indian cricket team is going to shift completely to the 50 over format. Two big stars of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20 International and Test cricket, but they are still participating in the ODI format keeping in mind the 2027 ODI World Cup.

After IPL 2026, Team India will start working on the strategy for the ODI World Cup, which will start with the ODI series to be played against Afghanistan.

Rohit-Virat's plan-2027

Three ODI matches along with one test match will be played on Afghanistan's tour of India. Rohit and Virat will once again be seen in Team India's jersey from the ODI series. This series will be enough for them, because this is the first big step in preparation for the 2027 World Cup. The first match of the series will be played on June 14 in Dharamshala.

Then on June 17, both the teams will face each other in Lucknow and on June 20 in Chennai. This will also be the first ODI series between these two countries.

Rohit-Virat have 12 more chances

After this series, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will have a chance to play a total of 12 more ODI matches in 2026. Team India has to tour England in July, where 3 ODI matches will be played. These matches will be held between 14th and 19th July. Then Team India has to play a home series against West Indies in October 2026. During this period, 3 ODI matches will be played between the two teams.

At the same time, Team India will tour New Zealand in October-November, during which also 3 ODI matches will be played. Then at the end of the year the Indian team will play a home series against Sri Lanka. There will be 3 ODI matches during this period also. That means these total 15 matches are going to decide the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. BCCI has not even once expressed its views openly on whether these two players will play the ODI World Cup or not. In such a situation, these veterans will have a big opportunity to prove their fitness and form.
