In the 59th match of IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs on the basis of centuries by captain Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and brilliant bowling by Mohit Sharma. With this victory, Gujarat has kept its hopes of reaching the playoffs alive. In this match, Gujarat played Sandeep Warrier as impact player in place of Sai and Chennai played Ajinkya Rahane in place of Tushar Deshpande. Gujarat captain Gill did not field in this match because he had a muscle strain. Captain Rahul was seen doing Tewatiya in his place.

Batting first, Gujarat scored 231 runs losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. The maximum 104 (55) runs from the team's side came from the bat of captain Shubman Gill. Chasing the target, Chennai team could score only 196 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Daryl Mitchell scored the most runs for Chennai. He played a half-century inning of 63 runs with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes in 34 balls. Moeen Ali played a half-century of 56 runs in 36 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes.

MS Dhoni remained unbeaten after scoring 26 runs in 11 balls with the help of one four and 3 sixes. Mitchell and Moeen made a century partnership of 109 (57) runs. Shivam Dubey scored 21 runs in 13 balls with the help of 2 fours and one six. Mohit Sharma took maximum 3 wickets for Gujarat. Rashid Khan 2 wickets went to his account. Sandeep and Umesh Yadav got one wicket each.
