Amid Israel-Iran tension, India’s star badminton player PV Sindhu is safe in Dubai. His father PV Ramana said that the Indian Embassy is taking care of him and arrangements have been made for him to stay in a hotel.
PV Ramana, while speaking to ANI over phone, said that he spoke to his daughter around 3 am on Sunday. “My daughter said the Indian Embassy is taking care of them and they have been put up in a hotel,” he said.
Earlier, two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu had expressed concern over the current situation by posting on social media platform He wrote that it is horrifying to hear the sounds of interception from above in Dubai and see the rapidly deteriorating situation. Many disturbing videos are emerging, which show the seriousness of the situation.
Sindhu said that Dubai has always seemed to her a safe and vibrant city, hence it is difficult to understand the current situation. He thanked everyone who asked about his well-being. He also said that he and his team are currently safe, although there is an atmosphere of chaos at the airport and many families are stranded.
She wrote, “I am safe now, but stuck with my team in Dubai. There is a lot of crowd and chaos at the airport. We are all hoping for normalcy soon. Moments like these remind how fragile normal life is. Praying for the safety and peace of all the affected families.”
