Delhi: Former captain of the Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mahendra Singh Dhoni, once again reached the famous Maa Deori temple of Jharkhand due to his religious faith. The video of him offering prayers in the temple before IPL 2026 has quickly become a topic of discussion on social media.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been following the tradition of visiting Maa Deori before important tournaments for a long time. This year too, before the upcoming IPL season, he reached the temple and performed special puja and took the blessings of the goddess. His presence in the temple premises attracted a huge crowd of devotees and fans.
In the pictures that emerged from the temple, Dhoni was seen wearing tilak on his forehead. A red chunari was also seen in his hand, which is considered a symbol of his devotion and traditional faith. Local people also described this occasion as special and praised his simplicity and religious sentiments.
Maa Deori Temple, located about 60 kilometers from Ranchi, is the main center of faith in the area. It is believed that this temple is more than 700 years old. However, there is no clear historical evidence available regarding its construction period. Devotees from far and wide come here for darshan and it is considered a wish fulfilling place.
Dhoni’s visit to the temple before the start of IPL 2026 has become a matter of excitement among his fans. Like every year, this time too he has continued his tradition and set an example of balance between faith and sports.
