At the time when he was trying to make Team India the world champion again, the shadow of his father disappeared from his mind. Rinku's father passed away just hours after the India-Zimbabwe match in the T20 World Cup 2026. But despite this hour of sorrow and pain, Rinku has shown courage and decided to fulfill her responsibility for the country. According to the information, Rinku will again join Team India after performing the last rites of his father.
According to the report of news agency ANI, Rinku Singh Will join Team India in Kolkata on Saturday 28th February, where the Indian team will face West Indies. This match will be played on March 1 at the Eden Gardens Stadium and the team that wins it will reach the semi-finals. In such a situation, considering the needs of the team, Rinku has taken such a big decision and has set an example of her courage. Rinku is currently in Aligarh with her family.
Rinku's father Khanchand Singh died on the morning of Friday 27 February in a hospital in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He was suffering from the fourth stage of liver cancer for some time. Seeing the deteriorating condition of his father before his death, Rinku had reached Greater Noida to meet him in the middle of the tournament. However, after this he returned to the team a day before the match against Zimbabwe on Thursday 26 February.
In the match against Zimbabwe, Rinku did not get a place in the playing-11 but he came on the field as a substitute fielder. But on Friday morning, just a few hours after the match ended, he got the news of his father's death. On receiving this sad news, Rinku immediately reached his city Aligarh from Chennai, where his house is. After his death, his father's body was brought to this city. As soon as he reached home, Rinku, fulfilling his responsibility as a son, shouldered his father's bier and completed the last rites.
