Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath’s government of Uttar Pradesh has once again made its hold and confidence in the administrative corridors clear. Retired IAS officer Avnish Kumar Awasthi, one of the most trusted strategists of Chief Minister Yogi, has got another extension in service as advisor to the Chief Minister.
According to the office memorandum issued by Appointment Section-1, the duration of this temporary ex-cadre post, created to advise the Chief Minister in his administrative work, has been extended from March 01, 2026 to February 28, 2027. The Governor has happily given his approval to this proposal.
Avnish Awasthi’s previous term was ending on February 28, 2026, which has now been extended by one year. Awasthi, a former IAS officer of 1987 batch, has been playing an important role as an advisor to the Chief Minister since his retirement. This order has been issued by Special Secretary Vijay Kumar after the consent of the Finance Department.
Avnish Awasthi is known for his deep experience in managing infrastructure projects (such as expressways) and law and order in Uttar Pradesh. The extension of his tenure is an indication that his expertise remains indispensable for the government in the upcoming schemes.
