Delhi: India strengthened its hopes of the semi-finals by defeating Zimbabwe by 72 runs in an important match played in the Super-8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India’s bowling was equally impressive. Arshdeep Singh decided the direction of the match by taking 3 wickets, while Varun Chakraborty and Akshar Patel also achieved important successes. India maintained complete control of the match, performing well in all three departments – batting, bowling and fielding.
After this victory, the situation of Super-8 Group-1 has become more exciting. South Africa has already made it to the semi-finals, while West Indies will need a win or no-result against India to progress. It will be mandatory for India to defeat West Indies to reach the last four, while Zimbabwe is out of the tournament.
