Australia Women (AUS W) lock horns with India Women (IND W) in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, on Friday, February 27.
In the series opener, after winning the toss, Harmanpreet Kaur’s decision to bat didn’t quite pay off. India was put on the backfoot by Megan Schutt, who removed Pratika Rawal for a duck, and the top order struggled. Smriti Mandhana stood tall with 58, while Harmanpreet battled through a knee niggle for a 53. Kashvee Gautam’s 43 added late finish, but the visitors were bowled out for 214 in 48.3 overs, with Ashleigh Gardner claiming three wickets.
In reply, Alyssa Healy recorded her farewell series in Brisbane with a 50, and Beth Mooney anchored the chase with a 76. Despite a fightback from India’s spinners, Australia comfortably chased down the target in 38.2 overs, winning with 70 balls to spare.
