PM Modi on Indian Origin Players: In the radio program 'Mann Ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised those players, whose workplace may not be India, but is definitely their birthplace, amid the T20 World Cup 2026. Prime Minister Modi has praised the players of Indian origin playing in the T20 World Cup 2026. These were the 40 players of Indian origin who were seen playing for the 20 teams that entered the tournament. PM Modi said that the thing that made him feel proud during the T20 World Cup 2026 was to see more and more players of Indian origin playing in this tournament.
While addressing the nation through Mann Ki Baat program on 22 February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the ability of cricketers of Indian origin. There are a total of 40 Indian origin players in the tournament and most were seen playing from teams from Canada and USA. PM Modi took the names of many of them and praised their achievements.
Prime Minister Modi said that all of you must be watching the T20 World Cup these days and I hope that your eyes will be fixed on some players. Those players are representing a different country but when you know their names, you realize that they are Indians. One gets happiness after knowing that. Feel proud of them.

PM Modi further said that the Canadian team has the highest number of players of Indian origin. Their captain Dilpreet Bajwa is from Gurdaspur. Navneet Dhaliwal is from Chandigarh. There is a long list of such players who have made India proud. There are many capable players of Indian domestic cricket in the USA team, which includes their captain Monank Patel and names like Saurabh Netrawalkar, Harpreet Singh.
Apart from these, the Prime Minister also took the names of many players of Indian origin present in the Oman team. And said that he is proud of the way he is helping in raising the level of cricket of other countries.
