Australia Women beat India Women in 2nd T20I: Australia women's cricket team has defeated Team India in the second T20 played in Canberra. Australia defeated the Indian team by 19 runs in the second T20 and with this made the 3-match T20 series 1-1. Earlier, Harmanpreet Kaur's Indian team had won the first T20 match by 21 runs under Duckworth-Lewis rule.
The big thing is that India had to face defeat in the second T20 despite the strong start given by Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma.Batting first, Australia scored 163 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Team India failed to reach the target of 164 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur's Indian team could score only 144 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match. With India's defeat, the hard work of Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma also went in vain.
Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma did not play big innings in the second T20 against Australia but they gave the start to the Indian team in the powerplay. Both took opening wickets and added 57 runs in 6.4 overs. This was the biggest partnership in the Indian innings. After this, another half-century partnership of 55 runs was made between Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh. But after that, no partnership was formed between any of the other batsmen which reached double figures. This was the biggest reason for Team India's defeat.
Opener Georgia Wall scored the maximum runs for the Australian team, which came to bat first in the match.
He scored 88 runs on 57 balls. Apart from them, Beth Mooney scored 46 runs on 39 balls. During this inning, Beth Mooney also became the highest scorer of 3432 runs for Australia in Women's T20I. In this matter, she broke the record of Meg Lanning, who had scored 3405 runs.
