Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka has won the toss and elected to bat first against Zimbabwe in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
“We want out batters to put runs on the board. Chameera and Pathirana have been ruled out with Madushanka and Madushan replacing them. It is unfortunate to be without your best players but you can’t do anything. The replacements have been doing their job,” Dasun Shanaka said.
Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza would have bowled first anyway. “There is a possibility of rain and we want to give our bowlers a chance to make an early impact. We are trying to get into a winning habit,” he said.
