Speaking on DC Podcast, 26-year-old Khalil Ahmed said, “The way the last few months were going and the way the IPL started, I had a feeling that something good would happen, as the IPL matches progressed, my confidence increased. It kept increasing. I realized that I am bowling well and it has always been so.”

He further said, “Finally, when the name came, I was very happy and it is a step forward for me. 2019 was a long time ago. Every day the feeling of playing for the country came to my mind. “Every time I used to watch playing for India, I would imagine what I would have done if I was in the team, so every day was like a battle and these kinds of conversations were going on in my mind.”

The fast bowler of the Delhi team said that he fought day and night for this, because his life has always been about cricket. The left-arm pacer said, “After the last IPL, I took a break of only one week and set out on this tour. I made sure I played all the domestic matches. As a fast bowler it is difficult, but I made up my mind that no matter what happens to me, I am going to play all the matches. I have pushed myself mentally in the last year. You just have to fight for it, day, night or any time, because my life has always been about cricket. My thoughts are only about cricket, nothing else matters to me.”
