Indian pacer Mohammed Shami lauded star batter Virat Kohli for his dedication. Notably, the International Olympic Commission has identified Kohli as the sport’s face and he is regarded as the greatest batter of the current generation across formats.

Speaking about Kohli’s commitment, Shami said that the 35-year old batter has maximum dedication in everything he does, including bowling.. Shami said that Kohli always seems to be in the zone.

“Whether it’s batting or fitness, he is extremely clear about his intentions. He will complete the job even if you hand him the ball, despite his cross feet (wrong foot) action,” he stated.

“He is a guy that stays in the ‘zone’ and is highly focused. Wherever he goes. he just shows everyone his greatness,” Shami added.

Speaking ahead, Shami remarked that Kohli is the ideal role model for youngsters and they can learn a lot about life from Kohli.

“Just think of how much the current generation will learn about skills, fitness, and other topics if there are such role models for them. You find commitment in all areas. Virat Kohli exhibits that. He is a perfect example of what young people need in a role model,” he continued.

The batting maestro is the top run scorer in the IPL 2024 and is in incredible form ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The RCB opener nearly missed out on his second IPL 2024 century despite playing a brilliant innings of 92 (47) against PBKS.

Kohli’s terrific knock enabled RCB to post a 241/7 in the 20 overs and the Bengaluru side defeated PBKS by 60 runs and are still alive in the competition. With one ton and five fifties, Kohli has amassed 634 runs from 12 innings at an average of 70.44 and a strike rate of 153.51. The right-handed batter will be motivated to maintain his form in the remaining RCB games and T20 World Cup 2024.
