Sanjiv Goenka is facing massive flak for insulting KL Rahul affet the SRH vs LSG match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The owner of the Lucknow-based team scolded captain Rahul on the field and the visuals sparked angry reactions from fans and cricketers.

The right-handed batter played a Test innings against Hyderabad, with the visitors posting 165/4 in 20 overs.

SRH completed the chase in 9.4 overs without losing a wicket. The total dominance of the Pat Cummins-led franchise was not taken lightly by Goenka, who surprisingly hit out at KL despite knowing that all the players were still present on the field and the cameras were on.

Team India pacer Mohammed Shami, who is out of action due to an injury, didn’t hold back, calling Sanjiv’s action shameless.

“You can’t insult KL Rahul. He is one of the star Indian players and no ordinary cricketer. There is a way to say things. If you wanted to talk to KL Rahul, you could have done it in the dressing room or at the hotel.

“I would call his behaviour shameless. Cricket is a team game and you can’t blame one player. There are good days and there are bad days,” Mohammed Shami said on Cricbuzz.

There are reports of Rahul leaving the team after the 17th season. Meanwhile, Lucknow are still in contention for the playoffs. With 12 points from 12 games, they need to win their remaining contests to play in the next round.
