T20WC 2026 AFG vs UAE Playing 11: Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan will square off against Muhammad Waseem-led United Arab Emirates in the 28th match of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on February 16 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Afghanistan suffered defeats against New Zealand and South Africa and will be aiming to win the upcoming group stage games with a higher run rate to keep their qualification chances alive.

Afghanistan are the fourth spot while the UAE secured 3rd position in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 points table.

Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Rashid Khan said, “We are going to bowl first. Fresh wicket, early morning game so the wicket is going to be softer and it is going to be better to bat on in the afternoon.”

“It is pretty hard but that’s something that’s gone and we learn from it. We played one of the best games of cricket. We have to make the nation proud again and play good cricket.”

Speaking on the Today Afghanistan cricket team players list, he added “One change. Farooqi is out.”

Meanwhile, Muhammad Waseem said, “We wanted to bat first as well. Boys are confident but today is a different game, different opposition and we are ready for that. The ball may do a bit in the first few overs. Two changes for us. Muhammad Farooq and Mayank Kumar are not playing Simranjeet Singh and Syed Haider are playing.
