T20WC 2026 ENG vs SCO Playing 11: Harry Brook-led England will square off against Richie Berrington-led Scotland in the 23rd match of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on February 14 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Both England and Scotland secured a win and a defeat in the two matches they played in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
With Scotland securing a second spot, England secured a fourth spot in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Points table.
Both will be aiming for a win and keep their Super 8 qualification chances alive. England won the toss and opted to bowl.
Speaking at the toss, Harry Brook said, “We’re going to have a bowl. We fancy chasing. It’s quite a quick outfield, and it looks like a good wicket. I’m not a curator, but it looks decent. Hopefully, we can restrict them to as few as possible and chase it down.”
“Just to give the team clarity,” said Harry Brook on today’s England Cricket Team players list.
“Knowing they’re playing helps everyone prepare better the day before. The team is unchanged. We were probably a little bit too careful chasing (in the last match). We could’ve been more aggressive and taken it to them.”
“Hopefully, we improve that today.” Speaking about Tom Banton’s role at No. 5, Harry Brook said, “We’ve spoken about it. Tom Banton’s an excellent player of spin and can score freely at the top or in the middle. I’ll play whatever role the team needs.”
Speaking on the challenges against Scotland, he added, “Definitely not. They’ve had a decent start, and they know these conditions, having played here already,” added Harry Brook.
Meanwhile, Richie Berrington said, “I would have batted first. Looks similar to the last couple of days, looks like a good batting first. They’re a good team, travelled a bit and played under different conditions. We’ve played a couple of games and are used to the conditions; hopefully, that’ll give us an advantage. Same team for us.”
