KL Rahul: In the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, on Wednesday, Lucknow Super Giants had to face a crushing defeat by 10 wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad (LSG vs SRH). Batting first, Lucknow scored 165/4 runs in 20 overs, which Hyderabad chased in 9.4 overs without losing any wicket.

The management of Lucknow Super Giants is extremely disappointed with this defeat. It is believed that they have made up their mind to release captain KL Rahul before the mega auction to be held next year. Not only this, they want that Rahul should not captain the team even in the remaining matches of this season.

Actually, after the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants are relying on luck to reach the playoffs. Team owner Sanjeev Goenka also appeared unhappy with the team's performance on Wednesday and was seen reprimanding KL Rahul after the end of the match.

It is noteworthy that KL Rahul was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 17 crore even before the 2022 auction. But now it is being claimed that the franchise will release its current captain before the mega auction of IPL 2025.

“There is a five-day break before the next match against Delhi Capitals. At the moment, no decision has been taken, but it is understood that the management will not mind if Rahul plans to focus on his batting for the remaining two matches.

Talking about KL Rahul's performance in IPL 2024, he has scored 460 runs in the 12 matches played so far at an average of 38.33 and strike rate of 136.09.
