Delhi: In the important match of Group A of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian team performed brilliantly and defeated Namibia by 93 runs. In this match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, India made the match completely one-sided on the basis of first batting and then lethal bowling. Batting first, opener Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Hardik Pandya scored runs at a fast pace for India. Ishaan played an explosive inning of 61 runs in just 24 balls, which included 5 sixes and 6 fours. At the same time, Pandya did not let the run pace stop by scoring 52 runs in 28 balls. With the aggressive batting of both, India scored a huge score of 209 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Apart from Ishaan and Pandya, Tilak Verma played useful innings of 25 runs, Shivam Dubey scored 23 runs and Sanju Samson played useful innings of 22 runs. However, in the last two overs of the innings, the Indian batsmen were seen continuously losing wickets while trying to score runs quickly. Till 18 overs, the team’s score was 199 runs for 4 wickets, but in the last 12 balls, India lost 5 wickets and could add only 10 runs. During this, two wickets fell in the last over and only 3 runs were scored.

Namibia entangled in Chakraborty’s spin

Namibia, which set out to chase the difficult target of 210 runs, did not have a good start. Indian bowlers maintained pressure from the beginning. Spinner Varun Chakraborty did not let the batsmen survive with his sharp bowling and took 3 wickets giving only 7 runs. Apart from them, other bowlers also attacked with precise line-length and reduced the opposition team to 116 runs in 18.2 overs.

For Namibia, Lauren Steenkamp scored 29 runs and John Frylink scored 22 runs, but apart from these, no other batsman could cross the 20 run mark. The team lost its last eight wickets in just 30 runs, due to which the match completely went in favor of India. Hardik Pandya was chosen player of the match.
