Ishan Kishan made an important contribution in making two big records with his half-century innings.
Ishaan Kishan As soon as he completed his half-century, he became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a half-century in the T20 World Cup. Wicketkeepers like Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant have played in the T20 World Cup but they could never score a half-century, now Ishaan has done this wonders. On the basis of this explosive innings of Ishaan, India also made the record of fastest 100 runs in T20 World Cup history. Team India had crossed 100 runs in just 6.5 overs, i.e. 41 balls, which is a world record.
Not only this, on the basis of Ishan Kishan's brilliant innings, India also made its biggest score in the powerplay in the T20 World Cup. India scored 86 runs in the first 6 overs, which is its best performance. Ishan Kishan completed his half-century in the powerplay itself and he is only the third Indian to do this feat. Before this, this feat has been done by KL Rahul and Rohi Sharma. Rahul had scored a half-century in 19 balls against Scotland in the year 2021, Rohit had scored a half-century in 21 balls against Australia in the last T20 World Cup. Now Ishaan has left Rohit behind.
Ishan Kishan made his debut in the T20 World Cup 5 years ago. He played a match against New Zealand in the 2021 T20 World Cup, in which he scored only 4 runs. After this, he made a comeback in the 2026 T20 World Cup and he was out after scoring 20 runs in the match against USA, but in the second match, he only scored his first fifty in the T20 World Cup.
