T20 World Cup 2026: The match played between South Africa and Afghanistan in Ahmedabad ended in a tie. Batting first in the match, South Africa scored 187 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Afghanistan also could not chase the target of 188 runs and could only score 187 runs for 10 wickets in 20 overs. After the match was tied, the match became more exciting when the first super over played in it also became tied. After this, this match got recorded in history as soon as it went into the second super over.

This is the first time in the history of T20 World Cup that two super overs have been seen in one match.

In the first super over, Afghanistan batted first and scored 17 runs. In reply, South African team could also score only 17 runs. After this the match reached the second super over, in which South Africa batted first and scored 23 runs.

Gurbaz played record innings for Afghanistan

For Afghanistan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz played his biggest innings in the T20 World Cup, scoring 84 runs in 42 balls. His innings, played at a strike rate of 200, included 7 sixes.

After Rahmanullah's dismissal, Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Zazai also showed good hands. The South African team was all out 2 balls before the end of the 20th over. But by then it had equaled the score made by South Africa.
