NEW DELHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced a 53 percent rise in video views across its digital platforms compared to the previous edition, following the first six matches of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
In its statement, the ICC said its digital channels recorded 647 million video views.
Significant growth has come from countries such as Nepal, the UAE, and the USA, whose national teams are part of the tournament.
“The ICC app has seen an 83% increase in users since 2024, while the ICC website also recorded a 16% rise over the same period,” the ICC stated.
“The most substantial growth has been from fans outside the Full Member nations. Nepal, which pushed England to the edge during their Group C clash on Sunday, leads in individual country growth, with users from the South Asian nation surging by an astonishing 442%.”
“There were also increases of 196% and 49% in users from the UAE and the USA, highlighting the tournament’s role in expanding cricket’s global reach,” it added.
The rise has been supported by the introduction of non-English commentary on ICC.tv, with the Nepali feed for England versus Nepal and the Hindi feed for India versus USA ranking as the top two streamed matches, according to the governing body.
The first six matches also drew 1,16,595 spectators to stadiums across co-hosts India and Sri Lanka, the ICC statement added.
