Delhi government has given a big responsibility to former Team India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan has been made the brand ambassador of Delhi Khel Mahakumbh. Delhi Education Minister Mr. Ashish Sood met former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Tuesday in the presence of Honorable Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta. After the meeting, Mr. Sood told that Mr. Shikhar Dhawan has been made the brand ambassador for the Delhi Khel Mahakumbh starting from 13 February 2026 in Delhi. Sood said that seeing the commitment of Delhi government towards sports, Dhawan has decided to become the brand ambassador of Delhi sports.

Dhawan himself came forward

Ashish Sood said that with the aim of promoting the children and youth of Delhi in sports, Shri Dhawan has taken this responsibility by going two steps ahead. On this occasion, Honorable Chief Minister expressed her gratitude to Shri Dhawan in her room and appreciated his contribution towards the players of Delhi. The Education Minister said that the Delhi Government, on behalf of the youth and sportspersons of Delhi, is proud to welcome Shikhar Dhawan, a very successful sportsperson and inspirational personality, who has pledged to take the sportspersons of Delhi forward while staying connected to his roots.

Delhi Khel Mahakumbh is starting from 13th, from the opening ceremony to the entire event, Shri Shikhar Dhawan will be present to encourage the players. Mr. Sood said that the Delhi Government is confident that with the guidance and inspiration of Mr. Dhawan, the young players of Delhi will get new energy, confidence and identity.
