T20 World Cup 2026 Injury Update: Sri Lanka may face a big shock in the middle of T20 World Cup 2026. This blow may seem to be due to its star player Wanindu Hasaranga. According to sources, Hasaranga has suffered a hamstring injury, due to which he is in danger of being out of the tournament. Hasaranga is the fourth player to get injured in the middle of T20 World Cup 2026. Of the three players who were injured before him, two have been ruled out, while one player is stuck with a sword of suspense like Hasaranga. The third player to be ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2026 is not due to injury but has been found guilty of indiscipline.

Who has been injured and out till now?

After the start of the warm-up matches of T20 World Cup 2026, Team India suffered its first setback due to injury. Harshit Rana was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury in the warm-up match against South Africa. After Harshit Rana, the second player to be ruled out due to injury was Jasdeep Singh of USA. Italy captain Wayne Madsen and Sri Lankan spin all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga have also been injured, but these two players are not officially out of the tournament yet. However, the possibility of their exclusion definitely remains.

No injury…this is why this player was out

The third player to be dropped from the T20 World Cup 2026 is Mohammad Zohaib of UAE, who has been sent home by the team due to indiscipline. Mohammad Zohaib was the opener of the UAE team and had so far represented in 16 T20I matches.

Suspense continues on Madsen and Hasaranga

Italy captain Wayne Madsen is injured. He dislocated his shoulder in the match against Scotland, due to which he was out of that match. But, till now no information has been revealed regarding his exit from the tournament.

Talking about Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga, he played Sri Lanka's first match in the tournament against Ireland, in which he gave 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs and looked in good form. In such a situation, if he is out due to hamstring injury, then Sri Lanka may suffer a big loss. Hasaranga was injured during the very first match.
