This is the incident in the recent Japan vs Mongolia match. Mongolian cricket team entered international cricket only 7 months ago. The Mongolian team entered international cricket from the Asian Games.
In the match against Japan, Mongolia was reduced to just 12 runs. This is the second lowest score in the history of T20 cricket. With this, Japan won the match by 205 runs. Earlier, a team was all out for just 10 runs.
The Mongolian team is currently on a tour of Japan. A series of 7 T20 matches is being played between them. Batting first in the second match of the series, Japan scored 217 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing a big target, the Mongolian team lost their wicket on the very first ball of the innings.
One by one all the players returned to the pavilion and 7 out of 11 players were out on zero. Left-arm fast bowler Kazuma Kato-Stafford took 5 wickets for just 7 runs in 3.2 overs for Japan.
The journey so far in international cricket has not been good for the Mongolian team. Mongolia played their first international match on 27 September 2023. Nepal, batting first in that match, scored 314 runs in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Mongolian players were all out for just 41 runs. In their second match too, they had to accept a defeat against Maldives by 9 wickets.
