Tarn Taran. A soul-shattering incident has come to light from Tarn Taran district of Punjab. On Monday, there was silence due to the sound of bullets in a law college located near Usma village, where students come with dreams of shaping their future. A crazy young man entered the classroom and openly murdered a student and then committed suicide by shooting himself with the same pistol. After this double murder, there was an outcry in the college campus and students started running here and there in fear.

Classroom became a battlefield, two lives ended within minutes

The deceased student has been identified as Sandeep Kaur, resident of Nowshera Pannuan, who was studying law in the same college. The attacker, youth Prince Raj Singh, who was a resident of Mallian village, suddenly reached the college and entered Sandeep’s classroom directly. Before anyone could understand anything, Prince opened fire on Sandeep. As soon as the bullet hit, Sandeep fell on the ground bleeding and died on the spot. Immediately after carrying out the horrific scene, Prince also shot himself in the temple, due to which he also died.

Police and forensic team took possession of the campus

As soon as information about the incident was received, top police officers reached the spot with heavy police force. The entire building has been sealed. The team of forensic experts has collected pistols, shells and other scientific evidence from the spot. Statements of eyewitness students and college staff are being recorded. Police are trying to find out how the accused youth managed to enter the college with weapons.

Love affair or rivalry? Police engaged in investigation

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Sandeep and Prince already knew each other and perhaps both were students of the same year. However, the real reason for the murder still remains a mystery. Police sources say that the matter could be to one-sided love or mutual rivalry. The police is now scanning the call details (CDR) of the mobile phones of both of them and interrogating their family members so that the real story behind this bloody incident can be revealed.

Serious questions raised on the security of educational institutions

This kind of violence inside the campus and classrooms of a considered safe law college has shaken the entire Punjab. The increasing anger among the youth and breaches in the security system have raised big questions before the society and administration. In view of the tension in the area, additional police force has been deployed. Tarn Taran Police says that after getting to the bottom of the matter, it will be ensured that such incidents do not recur in future.
