In the practice match of T20 World Cup 2026 against South Africa, the condition of Harshit Rana's knees had become so bad that it became difficult for him to even run on his runup while bowling. He bowled only one over, but twice during his run-up he was seen stopping and groaning in pain. Seeing the serious condition of Harshit, the team management decided to exclude him from the practice match. Later the news came that Harshit Rana was out of T20 World Cup 2026 and Mohammad Siraj was included in the team in his place.
