Sensational murder in Prayagraj: Married woman murdered, father-in-law and brother-in-law found behind bars… near neck and waist.

Prayagraj: The dead body of a woman found on the canal track in Mauaima police station area has been identified. The deceased has been identified as Muskaan Mishra (22), a resident of Barhada village of Raniganj area of ​​Pratapgarh. After murdering the woman in Pratapgarh, the body was thrown in Mauaima area, 17 kilometers away.

Muskaan’s brother Sunil Kumar Mishra has alleged that his sister was married to Dheeraj Kumar Mishra three years ago. Since marriage, her in-laws were harassing her demanding dowry. It is alleged that due to non-payment of dowry, her in-laws murdered Muskaan and to hide the evidence, they threw her body on the track of Sharda Sahayak Canal, 17 kilometers away from the house.

On the complaint of family members, a case of dowry death has been registered in Mauaima police station. The police arrested the father-in-law and brother-in-law of the deceased late in the evening. Police have raided many places in search of her husband.

Injuries were found near the neck and waist: On Friday morning, the dead body of the woman was seen by the villagers on the track of Sharda Sahayak Canal near the road from Govardhanpur to Bahria. On information, ACP Phulpur Vivek Yadav and Mauaima police station in-charge Pankaj Awasthi reached the spot and after filling the panchnama of the body, sent it for postmortem. Preliminary investigation revealed that the murder was committed somewhere else and the body was brought here and dumped.

The deceased was wearing a pink T-shirt, blue jeans and socks on her feet. His shoe was also found on the spot. Kalava was tied on the wrist. Police found injury marks on the neck and below the waist, raising suspicion of murder.

Anniversary was on 28th February: The deceased’s brother Sunil told the police that his sister Muskaan was married to Dheeraj Mishra on 28 February 2023 in Raniganj of Pratapgarh district. Shortly after the marriage, she started being harassed by her in-laws demanding dowry. Muskaan had complained to her parents many times.

The family members also talked to the in-laws several times and explained to them not to harass them regarding dowry, but to no avail. Even before this, his in-laws had beaten him twice and sent him to his maternal home. The family and relatives somehow convinced him and sent him back to his in-laws’ house. Sunil told that Muskaan’s husband Dheeraj Mishra lives in Chandigarh and does a private job. He had gone to work just a few days ago.

Last time we talked was on 5th February: On February 5 at 9:30 pm, Muskaan had made a video call to her parents and talked to her brother and mother. After this his mobile got switched off at 12:30. When there was no contact till 8:00 in the morning, the family members started worrying about something untoward. The in-laws also did not give any information. After this, on the afternoon of 6 February, a call came from Raniganj police station of Pratapgarh.

It was said that Muskan’s father-in-law Pushkar Mishra has given a complaint letter in the police station. It is said in the letter that Muskaan has run away from the house with all the jewelery and some cash. Even after extensive searching, no trace of him was found. After this his search started. Sunil told the police that on the morning of 6th February, the dead body of an unknown girl was found lying near Bhawanigarh Pulia of Mauaima.

Sunil has alleged that his in-laws murdered him and threw his body near a canal 17 kilometers away so that he could not be identified.

DCP City Ganganagar, Kuldeep Singh Gunawat says that the postmortem of the deceased has been done. There are injury marks on his neck and waist. A case has been registered on the basis of the complaint of the family members. The father-in-law and brother-in-law of deceased Muskaan have been arrested. Both are being interrogated. The matter is being investigated from every aspect. The situation will become clear after receiving the postmortem report. Further legal action is being taken.
