IND vs USA, T20 World Cup 2026: Team India played its first match against USA in T20 World Cup 2026. In this match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Indian team won by 29 runs. In this match, Team India not only won but also made a historic world record. The Indian team performed a feat which no other team has been able to do before in the history of the T20 World Cup. Team India has gone ahead of all the teams in a special list.

Team India made world record

In the last edition of the T20 World Cup, Team India had won 8 consecutive matches and also became the champion. Now by defeating America in the very first match of this tournament, the Indian team achieved its 9th consecutive victory in the T20 World Cup. With this brilliant performance, India made the record of most consecutive wins in T20 World Cup history. Before this victory, the Indian team was jointly in first place with South Africa and Australia, who have achieved 8-8 consecutive wins. But now Team India has gone ahead.

This victory is even more special for the Indian team because the beginning of the match was very bad. After the fall of 6 wickets for 77 runs, captain Suryakumar Yadav played an unbeaten inning of 84 runs and took the team to 161 runs. Then the bowlers restricted America to 132 and won by 29 runs. Apart from Suryakumar Yadav, no Indian batsman could touch the 30-run mark, which proved to be a big blow for the team at the beginning of the tournament. India's batting order is considered to be the strongest in the tournament, but in the first match, the situation was bad against a team like USA.

Now competition with Namibia

Apart from USA, there are teams from Pakistan, Namibia and Netherlands in Team India's group. The Indian team has to play its next match against Namibia. This match will be played on 12 February at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After this, the Indian team will go to Colombo to face Pakistan and then on February 18, it will face Netherlands at Narendra Modi Stadium.
