WI vs SCO Playing 11: Shai Hope-led West Indies will square off against Richie Berrington-led Scotland in the 2nd match of the T20I series on February 07 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

West Indies will be aiming to make an impact with a win in their opener match of the T20 World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, Scotland, who are named as the replacement for Bangladesh, will be aiming to make an impression in the cricketing world.

Scotland won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Richie Berrington said, “We’re gonna have a bowl first. I think we’d quite like to have a chase this afternoon. Yeah, obviously, it’s a fantastic opportunity for us. This has been a quick turnaround, but I think everyone’s just really excited to be here. There’s a real positive feel around the group.”

“I think we’re actually scheduled to have fitness testing today. So yeah, to be here in India today to start the tournament is going to be fantastic,” added Berrington.

“Yeah, look, it’s obviously come with a few challenges. There’s been a lot of hard work that’s gone on behind the scenes to get us all here. But since we’ve been brought here, we’ve had a fantastic week’s prep up in Bangalore. So yeah, I think we’re just raring to go and starting the tournament,” added Richie.

“Yeah, look, I think we had some really good performances in that last World Cup, and we see this again as a fantastic opportunity to show what we can do on the world stage. So there’s a lot of experience within the team. They’ve been here before, and we’ve also got some young players coming into the squad as well, which is really exciting,” added Richie Berrington.

Meanwhile, Shai Hope said, “I haven’t won a toss in a long time. I can’t remember the last one I did. Yeah, for sure, some great memories. Unfortunately, I wasn’t here, but we’ve got a couple of guys now who’ve been here and had that experience, so it’s something that we can also use in terms of our kit,” added Hope.
