The entire team will be given a reward of Rs 7.5 crore by the board.
ICC Men's played on Friday 6 February in Harare Under-19 World Cup 2026 India defeated England by 100 runs in the final. With this victory, Team India became Under-19 champion for the sixth time. India's last title came against England in 2022. However, Team India did not receive any reward from ICC for this title win and the players returned only with medals. ICC does not give any financial reward at the Under-19 level because this tournament is played for the development of young players.
Now ICC, as per its policy, did not give reward to the victorious Indian team, but BCCI, as per its policy, continued the process of honoring the team that became world champion at every level. On Saturday, February 7, the next day after the title win, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia announced a reward of Rs 7.5 crore, calling the success of the Under-19 team a joyous occasion for the entire country. This is the biggest reward ever given by BCCI at the Under-19 level. Earlier, the Indian Board had given Rs 5 crore to the women's team that won the Under-19 World Cup in 2025.
Talking about the final match, the Indian team batted first and scored 411 runs. The biggest role in helping Team India reach this score was played by 14 year old young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav, who missed a century thrice in the entire tournament, showed his talent in the biggest match. The Indian opener played an astonishing and record-breaking inning of 175 runs in just 80 balls, which included 15 fours and 15 sixes. This target proved to be very big for England and despite Caleb Faulkner's century, the entire team could reach only 311 runs. Apart from being the Player of the Match, Vaibhav was also chosen Player of the Series for scoring 439 runs in the tournament.
