This service based on the cooperative model has been started with the support of the Union Ministry of Cooperation. Its objective is to provide affordable travel to passengers and respectable earnings to drivers. The government claims that the app will bring relief to the common people as an alternative to private companies.

On the launch of Bharat Taxi, Shah said, “In three years, Bharat Taxi will be launched across the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Dwarka to Kamakhya.” He made it clear that the drivers connected to this new ride-hailing platform will not only be service providers, but will also become participants in good profits. “India will bring both economic security and respect for taxi drivers,” Shah said.

Emphasis on cooperative model

Shah said that the idea of ​​’cooperation, not government’ has been brought to the ground through Bharat Taxi. He said that in this model, every driver is the owner of his own taxi, which is called ‘Sarathi’. Comparing it to successful cooperative models like Amul, Shah said this arrangement will revolutionize the economic empowerment of drivers and take the taxi sector out of the control of a few private players.

Will get relief from commission

Bharat Taxi is structured differently from private apps. Here drivers are not just service providers but also participants in this system. In this, no commission is taken on every ride from the drivers called Sarathi. To use the app they have to pay only a fixed fee. After this, the entire fare amount goes directly into the driver’s account, which has a direct impact on their income.

In this new app, special emphasis has been laid on low fares for passengers. The company says that Bharat Taxi fares can be much lower than other popular apps. It has many options like AC, non-AC cab, big car, auto and bike taxi. The design of the app has also been kept simple, so that people of every category can use it easily.

Safety is considered important in Bharat Taxi. Verification of drivers is mandatory and a helpline facility has been provided for assistance if needed.
