India Under-19 clinched the Under-19 World Cup 2026 title after defeating England Under-19 by 100 runs in the final on February 6 at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. With this victory, India lifted the U19 World Cup trophy for a record sixth time.

Batting first, India U19 posted a massive total of 411/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi starred with a sensational knock of 175 runs, while captain Ayush Mhatre played a crucial supporting role, scoring 53. For England U19, James Minto was the standout bowler, picking up 3/63.

In response, England U19 were bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs despite fighting knocks from Ben Dawkins, who scored 66, and Caleb Falconer, who top-scored with a brilliant 115.

India’s bowlers held their nerve, with RS Ambrish leading the attack by claiming 3/56 from his nine overs to seal a comprehensive victory for the Men in Blue.

India Under-19 opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a sensational knock, scoring a mammoth 175 off just 80 balls, smashing 15 fours and 15 sixes at an astonishing strike rate of 218.75.

He put together a 142-run second-wicket partnership off 90 balls with captain Ayush Mhatre and later added 89 runs off 39 balls for the third wicket with Vedant Trivedi to further strengthen India’s commanding total.

Right-arm pacer RS Ambrish emerged as the standout performer with the ball in the final.
