Delhi: The Indian cricket team will start its ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Before this important match, Team India’s concern seems to be increasing regarding the fitness of fast bowler Harshit Rana. Suryakumar has openly spoken about Harshit’s condition in the press conference.
While talking to the media before the match, Yadav said that Harshit Rana is not completely out of the tournament yet, but there is doubt about his playing. He told that Harshit was injured during the warm-up match on Wednesday and at present his condition is not satisfactory. According to the captain, the final decision regarding his availability will be taken by the evening.
To test its preparations before the T20 World Cup 2026, India played a practice match against South Africa on 4 February at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. In this match, Harshit Rana bowled one over, but after this, due to pain in his right knee, he looked very uncomfortable and left the field.
After Harshit Rana’s injury, questions were raised about his playing in the entire tournament. Now after the captain’s statement, the fear has deepened that he may be out of the T20 World Cup 2026. If this happens, it could prove to be a big blow to the bowling attack of the Indian team, especially just before the start of the tournament.
