A case has come to light from Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh, which exposes the bitter truth of marital life. The wife of a young man living in Kailash Nagar of Hathras Gate police station area flatly refused to live with her after just 30 days of marriage. The wife alleges that her husband’s dark complexion and inability to have physical relations are making her uncomfortable. The husband claims that even before the marriage the girl had expressed her liking for him. The matter has reached the police station.

According to the information, Rahul (name changed), a local resident of Kailash Nagar, was married to a girl from Agra about a month ago. After marriage, the wife returned to her maternal home and is now claiming that she cannot live with her husband because his complexion is dark. Moreover, he is also dissatisfied in physical relationships. Rahul told that after marriage he had tried to convince his wife several times, but she was adamant. The police tried to convince both the parties, but no solution was found. According to sources, the wife is now living in her maternal home and may demand divorce.

‘Spent Rs 3 lakh on marriage, now relationship is breaking’

Rahul, who runs a small bakery, narrated his ordeal to the police. He said, “Our marriage was solemnized in Agra. The girl’s side gave only some household items, neither a motorcycle nor any cash. The total expenditure came to Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 lakh. While arranging the marriage, the girl had said that she liked me, but now she is making excuses.” Rahul emotionally told that everyone in the family is devastated – parents are crying, brothers and sisters are upset. He is still willing to convince his wife, but is frustrated by her refusal.

Police have started mediation to resolve the matter. SHO Hathras Gate said, “This is a family dispute. We are calling both the parties and getting them to talk. Legal action will be taken only when one of the parties files a complaint.”
